Valpo.net is a urban experiment and a framework for a citizen network in Valparaiso, Chile.
The first version was launched within the activities of II. Festival Teatro Container (13/11/2009) with the idea to extend the public of the plays and opening up a tool for local organizations, now this version is used by local citizen organizations, you can visit the project at http://ciudadanos.valpo.net
Recently we deployed a collaborative mapping tool in response to the damages of the city produced by the recent earthquake 27/02/2010. This platform helped to manage direct requests from citizen with damaged home to the local architecture association. We further want to develop this into a project for a collaborative mapping of the urban area declared world heritage in Valparaiso. We encourage local citizen organizations, associations and the public sector to participate in this effort. Contact us.
